With his body broken by torture, there was no reason that Saint Lorenzo Ruiz could have spoken those words: "If I had a thousand lives, I would give them all for Christ." And yet, moved by a strength and love beyond our reckoning, he did so, and Filipinos were given their first saint. By the miracle of his extraordinary faith, may we all be moved to speak those same words and make that same holy offering.
