How many of our hearts are soiled with pain and anger, clouded with fear and resentment? How many of our hearts are mired in pride and sin, unable to expand towards generosity and understanding? "A clean heart create for me, God; renew in me a steadfast spirit," that our hearts may be opened to the light of Your love. 

This chant may be used as a responsorial psalm, as is, or with intoned or spoken verses. It may also be sung as an opening song to any prayer gathering, as the assembly petitions the Holy Spirit to purify their hearts and dispose their wills to God's.
