For the Jubilee of the First Companions
Lyrics and music by Manoling Francisco, SJ

Three college roommates: the vision of one would set the others' hearts aflame. Three Jesuits: Ignatius of Loyola would offer his sword to patient governance, Francis Xavier would fly off to zealous mission, and Peter Faber would devote his life to compassionate spiritual direction. Three friends in the Lord: exemplars for us all.

This march-chant was written in 2006 for the Jubilee of the First Companions: Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Francis Xavier, and Blessed Peter Faber.

The main melody of the chant may be sung alone, with the different counter-melodies selected and sung as needed. It may be used as a processional hymn, or as a meditational chant for prayer gatherings.
