Songbook Information

God of Silence features 15 songs inspired by psalms, prayers, and stories of real people who have experienced the faithful love of Christ deeply and intimately.

These songs aim to accompany us as we journey in faith and in prayer.

They share our voices when our hearts overflow with praise, when our spirits taste desolation, when our souls are moved by the serene majesty and steadfast love of a God who is always, always with us.

Songbook Information

In commemoration of its 24th anniversary, the Bukas Palad Music Ministry offers its 15th album, Christify, a collection of 10 new songs for liturgy and worship.

The second of three anniversary albums, Christify follows To Love & Serve: Bukas Palad Chants in continuing Bukas Palad’s mission to broaden the repertoire of Filipino liturgical music. The songs in this album draw from the wealth of liturgical music that has inspired and influenced Bukas Palad in the last 24 years. These songs also explore new facets of what Jesuit historian Horacio de la Costa calls the “two jewels” of the Filipino soul: faith and music.

TAKE AND BLESS THE WORK OF OUR HANDS

At every moment, somewhere in the world, a Mass is being celebrated. At every moment, somewhere in the world, a Catholic community offers bread and wine for God to Christify. As the community receives the bread and wine, so, too, are they sanctified, missioned to draw the world for God to Christify.

Three of these songs were products of a song writing workshop while others are fruits of collaboration between many Bukas Palad members and friends. All of the songs in this album and the accompanying songbook are intended to be congregation-friendly and replicable by parish choirs.

Christify renews Bukas Palad’s commitment to serve the Filipino Church through its music. We humbly dedicate this album to all Filipino parish choirs around the world, who inspire us with their tireless service of their parish communities.
